Pilot Cutter Regatta

Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th May 2011

£650 per person or £4200 for the whole boat

Meeting in Southampton on the Monday morning, Morwenna sets off for Fowey in Cornwall. This allows a few days of sailing to get to know the boat and the rest of your crew as you prepare for the main event along the Cornish coastline.

Thursday evening is spent with the crews of the com peting Pilot Cutters in Fowey. A welcoming barbecue is to be sponsored by St Austell Brewey, who will be providing a free supply of the local Tribute  beer. On Friday morning, the racing will commence with a 24 mile passage from Fowey to St Mawes, competing in the St Austell Brewery sponsored 'Tribute Passage Race'.

The St Mawes Sailing Club hosts a reception on Friday evening ahead of further day's racing on the Saturday and Sunday morning. The event finishes on the Sunday afternoon in St Mawes Sailing Club where prizes will be awarded.

Morwenna has not taken part in this event before, but it is certainly our intention to be competitive, but safe. No previous sailing experience is required as you can learn the ropes on the passage from Southampton to Fowey.
